World Builders is not the kind of love story most would ever imagine. Johnna Adams' intimate and provocative new play follows Max and Whitney, two bipolar patients in a mental health facility who each live in their own, imaginary world. Both are participating in a clinical for a new drug -- a treatment that will hopefully cure them of their schizoid dreams and flights of fancy. As the pills take effect, their fantasies fade and amidst their struggles to preserve their illusions, they fall in love. In this sad, poignant yet weirdly and warmly comic drama, performed by Forum Theatre actors at the Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company's Melton Rehearsal Hall, Max and Whitney must choose between a love that is real and the worlds that they have built.
