The Santaland Diaries is a comedic one-man show based on an essay by humorist David Sedaris. Back at Theater Wit for its 12th straight year, it's the outrageously funny tale of Sedaris' stint as an embittered elf at Macy's in New York. At first, the job is simply humiliating, but once the thousands of visitors start pouring through Santa's Workshop, Crumpet the Elf becomes battle weary and bitter, occasionally taking out his frustrations on children and parents alike. Sedaris delightfully skewers parents, children, holiday consumerism and even his own cynical protagonist. The Santaland Diaries is the perfect antidote to Christmas cheer -- no wonder it sells out every year.
