What You'll Get
A fundraising gala can garner support for any cause, unless that cause is building an underwater monument to American sitcoms from the 1990s. Back a cause more valid than a gurgling golden Urkel idol with today’s Groupon: for $35, you get one ticket (a $50 value) to the ArtSmash fundraising gala on October 2 at the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop, located at the corner of 7th and G Streets, SE.
ArtSmash, Capitol Hill Arts Workshop’s annual gala, promises to present a lively evening of food, drinks, arts, and entertainment, with proceeds benefitting CHAW’s tuition assistance, outreach, and education programs. Admittance to the celebration gets gala-goers a potable philanthropic portion of delectable food, palate-pleasing wine and beer, and a signature cocktail. During the three-hour festivities, a spirited assortment of performers will entertain attendees, from a-capella collective Not What You Think to the casts of CHAWbaret and The Mikado. Take home work from local artists or the Capitol Hill Art League members in a silent auction, participate in invigorating dance lessons, or learn how to paint like the Renaissance masters, all skills and resources which can be later incorporated into lobbying for federally funded anarchist-hardcore day camps.
Your admittance to ArtSmash directly contributes to after-school programs for students of the arts aged 5 to 12. Capitol Hill Arts Workshop encourages students to cooperate with one another while revealing to them an exciting variety of artistic disciplines. Learn more about these programs while at the CHAW building, which includes painting and dancing studios, a photographic darkroom, private musical-instruction rooms, and rooms for potential future courses such as Growing Dali’s Mustache 101.
