Choose Between Two Options
- $59 for a three-hour sunset sail for two (a $120 value)
- $249 for a five-hour chartered daytime sail for up to six (a $500 value)
The shortest of the sails, the sunset cruise takes twosomes and up to two other couples around San Francisco Bay for a romantic evening in a classic wooden sailboat. The ship leaves Berkeley Marina at 6:30 p.m. and returns between 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
During the five-hour daytime sail in the wooden sailboat, Captain Dan darts past passengers' choice of San Francisco attractions, including the Bay Bridge and Alcatraz.
During all cruises, Captain Dan encourages guests to help handle the sails. He also recommends that they wear warm, waterproof clothing and bring food and wine to share with fellow passengers.
Capt. Dan Classic Sails
Dan Bohn of Capt. Dan Classic Sails is a US Coast Guard–certified master mariner sailing captain who charters sunset and daytime sails aboard the Feral[http://www.captdan.net/capt-dan--the-feral.html], a 40-foot double-ended wooden sloop. Captain Dan’s commitment to staying as true to the boat’s origins as possible has resulted in a nautically nostalgic vessel that is lit by a few navigation lights, several oil lamps, and the gleam from Poseidon’s eyes. The ship cuts through the water of San Francisco Bay toward sights such as Alcatraz and the Bay Bridge during his BYOB sails.
