Captain’s Walk Winery

Brothers Aric and Brad Schmiling cultivated a passion for viticulture while growing up on their parents’ Italian–style winery. After moving to Green Bay, the duo set out to remedy the area’s winery deficit by founding Captain’s Walk Winery, where trained vintner Aric produces small-batch wines in water-bent French-oak barrels. Situated in a restored pre-Civil War building, the facility entices eyes with old-fashioned design features, including plaster crown moulding, an antique tasting bar, and a television from the eighteenth century. Year-round events and a new, larger tasting room offers guests an unpretentious glimpse into winemaking with laid-back tastings and a cellar viewing window carved into the wooden floor.

Customer Reviews

Awesome place and wonderful people!

Very friendly. Being new to Green Bay our server even gave us recommendations for dining in the area. Tasting was generous and fun, the cheese board was superb. The building is charming and we look forward to being in the Captain's Club.

The wine tasting was a fun activity to do with others in the Green Bay Area. I specifically liked the homemade ciders. The building and winery has an interesting history which we were able to hear about at the tasting and experience in the private lounge.
