This was a great tour! Our tour guide, David, was very knowledgeable. I also like that they took covid precautions by having less people at a time and they had plastic barriers between rows. This was a highlight of Charleston for me! I recommend it :)

Surprised my sister for her 40th birthday with a trip to Charleston! I scheduled this carriage ride and couldn’t have been happier with the results. I love that each horse gets a break after every tour. I watched the stables afterwards and they are really taken care of. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and educated us on the history of the area. Highly recommend

I’m sure overall the carriage company is great. Unfortunately, we got a driver who distracted from the charm of the city. His jokes were crass (maybe a drunk college crowd would have liked it), more than once he yelled at cars (really? Road rage from a carriage driver?), and he proudly told of damaging a car with his horse whip during a tour. Not impressive. I wish they’d kept the front bench empty. He had to yell so all could hear him. I was sitting front and center so I felt I was getting yelled atthe whole time.

About Carolina Polo and Carriage Company

With Charleston roots dating back to the 1600s, Robert Knoth is helping tourists and locals alike see the city the way his ancestors might've: by carriage. At Carolina Polo and Carriage Company, guests hop on buggies pulled by highly trained draft horses, who clip-clop all over town and bring passengers with them. The horses are led by equally well-trained guides, who point out historic areas and sights to see in Charleston during each leisurely hour-long ride.
