The Red Hot Chilli Pipers put a modern, rock-tinged spin on Scottish bagpipe music. This unique and gifted group plays their own takes on Queen's "We Will Rock You," Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water," AC/DC's "Thunderstruck," Coldplay's "Clocks" and other classic rock hits, plus impassioned performances of traditional Scottish music. The nine-piece ensemble consisting of pipers, guitarists, keyboards and drummers formed in Scotland in 2002 and captured widespread attention when they won the BBC talent show When Will I Be Famous? in 2007. Now they perform all over the world, from China to Australia to the U.S., and stars like Sir Paul McCartney and Ewan McGregor rave about them. Hear their unique "bagrock" sound live when they take the stage at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center in Long Beach.
