The Carroll County Times published its first issue in October of 1911. Back then, though, it was just the Times, and its content focused almost solely on local news. Like its surrounding community, which over the years has evolved from a small, rural area into a more diverse melting pot of activity, the paper has evolved substantially, too. In 1956, the paper finally took on its Carroll County Times title, and with it, an expansion in coverage. Today, it covers state, regional, and international news in addition to local happenings so readers don't have to hear about city council results from their neighbor's aunt's friend's butcher.
