Classic sub sandwiches are stacked with with beef on weck ($4.59 for a 5-inch round roll), and housemade meatloaf ($4.49 for a 6-inch). The menu also boasts deli staples such as crab and pasta salad ($2.99) and and handmade orange-creamsicle milkshakes ($3.75 for a regular). The bakery boasts items such as cookies ($5.99 per package), hand-rolled apple-crumb pie ($9.99), and carrot cake ($5.99 for 7-inch round).
Carson’s Deli & Bakery
Starting in 1982, Dave and Gwen Carson used to spend hours baking pies in their North Tonawanda apartment to sell at area farmers' markets. As they acquired more space by building a house and converting the basement into a commercial kitchen, the pie orders increased, too. Eventually, the Carsons were selling their hand-rolled pies at more than 20 grocery stores and even baked 2,000 pies for a single fundraising event. Today, they still spend hours baking, but their pies share the spotlight with other housemade treats such as seasonal cookies, meatloaf, and classic sub sandwiches.
