The Mediterranean Sea shaped some of the world's most ancient civilizations, which gathered by its shores to dive for the delicious kabobs, yogurts, and gyros growing beneath its crystal waves. Transport to this legendary culinary coast with today's Groupon at Caspian Bistro in Overland Park. Choose between the following options:

  • For $15, you get $30 worth of Mediterranean fare during dinner.
  • For $10, you get $20 worth of Mediterranean fare during lunch.

Caspian Bistro, which was featured on the PBS show Check, Please!, fires a sweeping selection of Persian, Middle Eastern, and Mediterranean dishes over open flames. Conquer lunch cravings with a fresh-broiled chicken gyro, snuggled into a hot pita alongside tomatoes, onions, and a cucumber-garlic yogurt sauce invented as a sports drink for ancient Olympians ($7.69). Dinner diners can appetize their bellies with the vegetarian dolmeh plate, which envelops split peas, basmati rice, and spices in grape leaves with tomato sauce ($6.79), before diving into the vegetable kabob ($13.69). Other skewers bear hunks of seasoned ground beef ($9.99) and marinated filet mignon ($16.49, served over basmati rice and a choice of vegetables).

During evening hours, candle-lit tables make for romantic tête-à-têtes as well as proof of man's dominion over fire for caveman pals. Grab a booth nestled in the Romanesque pillars and arches on Friday and Saturday nights to enjoy the accompaniment of live music and belly dancers starting at 8 p.m.

Customer Reviews

Wonderful food and good service. Wish they had a real bartender and a bit better wine choices.

I read the comments before we went but I have to say that the food was delicious. The first time, the service was great but the second time I think the guy was new and he didn't do such a great job. But, it was adequate and we just laughed about it. I would definately go back because the food was delicious!
