The basics course includes three classes, during which students learn how to perform functional exercises safely and use them in a brief workout. Trainer Tommy Holmes then compiles the weightlifting and gymnastics techniques into customized personal-training sessions.

Castigo Strength & Conditioning

Though he named his business after the Greek word for discipline, Tommy Holmes believes that exercisers require more than that to sustain a fitness regimen—they also need variety and a shared sense of community. Tommy prioritizes functional exercises such as weightlifting and gymnastics techniques. He acquaints his clients with kettlebells, resistance bands, and medicine balls, outfitting the most advanced students with Batman-like utility belts that hold all three.

In addition to resistance routines, his workouts incorporate team-based drills and games to amuse as well as challenge participants. After teaching fundamental maneuvers and safety through his basics course, Tommy hosts group classes.
