The soaring arches and high stone vaults of Washington National Cathedral provide the perfect setting for the glorious sounds of the Cathedral Choral Society's festive holiday tradition, Joy of Christmas. Both the Lyric Brass Quintet and the Children's Chorus of Washington are set to join in the Yuletide cheer as the singers raise their voices in timeless arrangements of beloved carols, as well as the world premiere of a newly commissioned work by British composer James Whitbourn, entitled Veni et illumina. You may even catch the Cathedral's famed gargoyles cracking a smile during this heart-warming celebration of the season, especially during the fun sing-alongs of favorites like "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" and "The First Noel."
