About Cathy Nance Studios
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
The 30-minute session includes a bed set, up to two outfit changes with clothing brought from home. Cathy works with clients to make them comfortable, poses them from head to toe and produces natural images that don't look cheesy or posed. The look is photojournalism meets beauty and fine art in a way that Cathy calls intimate editorial art. Customers will come back in 1 -10 days after the boudoir session to view and place orders. Afterward, you can select your favorite portrait to preserve as a 5"x7" print; additional prints and products are available for an extra fee. Orders take up to four weeks to be ready; rush orders available for an extra fee.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
After 30 years of playing around with photography as a hobby I took a workshop with an amazing portrait artist. It gave me goosebumps and took my breath away where I knew that I had to do the same thing.
What do you love most about your job?
I love to help women see their beauty and overcome issues they have had about what they look like. There is nothing in the world like seeing someone jump up and down with joy and cry when seeing their images. Not only is it a one of a kind experience but clients can order heirloom images that they will cherish.
What is the best reaction you've ever gotten from a customer?
The best reaction I have ever got from a customer was when a woman jumped up and down while giggling and then broke down crying while seeing her images. After the reveal she kept hugging me and saying thank you.I spoke with her about a month after and she told me how much this was a life changing experience.
