Cavo

Chef Wade Chambers boasts an international culinary education, though it is humbly rooted in his grandparents' kitchen. It was there that Chambers developed a passion for cooking that endured through his attendance at the International Culinary Academy in Pittsburgh, as he trained under renowned pastry chef Pierre Herme in France, and as he worked at Disney World. He unites all of his varied influences at Cavo, resulting in a menu of modern American delicacies. He whets appetites with dishes such as the Meatball Volcano, a bread bowl bubbling with meatballs, marinara sauce, and mozzarella cheese, and his entrees range from cornbread-stuffed chicken with spiced country gravy to lightly seared scallops drizzled in fruit reduction.

And his dishes come with a side of dancing. After dinner hours, the eatery transforms into a night club, which plies visitors with salsa dancing and live beats from DJs who have promised to not play "The Chicken Dance."

Customer Reviews

Cool venue in Pittsburgh, but the burlesque show was kind of rough. Only a few "true" burlesque acts and mostly a lot of performances by the house dancers which was disappointing, especially considering the wonderful atmosphere they set up for the event. The live band was a nice touch.
