Commonly Asked Questions

Q:

How often can you have this treatment done? Example.......I don't live in Orlando and would visit for a specific time frame.

Denise  asked on  Feb 19, 2013

A:

Each Cavitation treatment (which breaks down fat) can be done no less than every 4 days, ideally we want to give the body at least a week between the session to be able to process the released fat/oils. That also depends on the amount of fat that you have, your general health, fitness level and the status of your detoxification system. In other words if you have only small pockets of fat, say less than 2 inches of skin fold then you might need only 4-6 treatments and then maintain with appropriate nutrition/exercise/life style regimen as well as possibly once a month or every couple of month touch up/maintenance treatment.

Q:

Can this package be used for removing fat in the face? Also, once removed, can the fat come back in the same place? ...I'm finding mixed answers on the internet...

Michelle K.  asked on  Feb 21, 2013

A:

We do not use Cavitation for removing fat on the face, there are too many vital structures that are only skin deep: nerves, blood vessels. You could use it under the chin area but not over the front of the neck. We do use radiofrequency to tighten up the skin of the face. As we grow older we naturally lose fat, collagen and bone (of the skull) and that's how wrinkles appear. Once the fat is removed it can come back if you do not follow a healthy life style. Nothing is permanent, even liposuction which involves surgical removal of fat under general or local anesthesia and leaves with small scar (s) depending on the approach used. What happens is that the Cavitation and surgical Liposuction both reduce total number of fat cells but if you do not follow a healthy life style then the remaining fat cells will swell up with new fat (triglycerides and fatty acids). There is still a debate whether we make new fat cells or not.

Q:

How does it compare to Velashape and laser tightening for problematic cellulite? I never saw much improvement for my thighs, with regular treatments.

Gina C.  asked on  Feb 21, 2013

A:

Velashape uses infrared light therapy along with bipolar RF, vacuum and mechanical massage. Zerona uses infrared light/laser from a distance above the client's body further away from the skin than Velashape. Sheerwave uses ultrasound technology to disrupt the fat cells and RF to induce collagen production that tightens up the skin. Each of the technologies have their own strength and weaknesses, the way they are operated and the results that you get in return. To date there is no one method that completely eliminates or cures the cellulite, even the gold standard liposuction does not eliminate the issue. Most of the procedures minimize the appearance of the cellulite to some degree or another. A lot depends on the client, type and the grade of cellulite, their gender (more predominant in women than in men), hormonal balance, life style (nutrition, exercise, stress, toxin build up), there is some genetic component to it as well. At Celebrity Medical Spa, Center of Anti Aging Medicine, Fitness, Nutrition and Aesthetics we can individualize treatments based on your condition, your goals, timeline (how soon you want to see the improvement), and the budget. A lot depends on your willingness to change and follow our guidance because a lion share of change towards improvement happens outside of our facility based on what you do with the recommendations that we make for you. We use a multifactoral (meaning multiple factor) approach to help you transform your health and body, and Cavitation, RF, Laser etc are only a small piece of the puzzle to solving the issue.

More Questions and Answers

Q:

Are we able to use this groupon for the back and sides of our thighs? I don't see that listed as one of the areas we can get treated. Also, are there any extra fees, for the consultation for example? Or does the $99 cover everything for 6 treatments, no hidden fees? Lastly, are there any known negative side effects or possible health issues that could potentially arise from using this technology? Thank you!

Q:

No matter which option is chosen, how far apart should the sessions be spaced out, once a week? one treatment every 10 days? etc...I'll be in Orlando for just 4-5 days. How many treatments can I get within that timeframe? Thanks!

Monica P.  asked on  Feb 20, 2013

A:

You should not do more than one session every 4-7 days to allow your system process the fat that is released from your cells. If you are in Orlando only for 4-5 days, then you can squeeze in 2 treatments on day 1 and day 5 of your visit. I would not advise to do more than that.

Q:

How often can a person have the ultrasound fat loss treatment done?

Denise  asked on  Feb 19, 2013

A:

There is no limit to how many treatments one person can have as long as they are spaced out at least 4 days apart and your detoxifying organs (liver, kidneys, intestines/colon) are working properly and you lead a healthy life style. One thing you have to remember that we tend to store toxins in our fat, such as organophosphates, pesticides etc. So when you undergo the cavitation treatment you can release those toxins along with the triglycerides and fatty acids stored under the skin. You have to make sure that you don't put extra load on your liver and kidneys during that time, such as drinking alcohol, eating fatty, fast or fried foods, simple carbs, not washing your fruits and vegetables well and so on. Imagine that you have a big glob of solid butter in a kitchen sink and the drain is plugged up, so even if we melt the butter with the Cavitation it can not be drained because the drain (the liver, kidneys and intestines) are plugged up, once the cavitation is stopped the butter will resolidify and you will not see any change...Does that make sense? On the other hand if you doing everything right, then the melted butter will trickle out of you system and you will see the difference.

Q:

Hi, what is the name of the machine? Does it have radio frequency? Is radio frequency included in the package price? Thanks! :)

Michelle K.  asked on  Feb 20, 2013

A:

The name of the machine is Sheerwave, it's an Italian technology and has been used in Europe for at least 10 years with great results. It has radio frequency that can be used on the face and the body. The radiofrequency is included in the price. We do 40-45 mins of cavitation followed by 15-20mins of radiofrequency to tighten up the skin of the treated area for better contouring. Right after the first session you will see how much softer and mushier the treated areas are due to melted fat. Part of the fat will be processed by your body and eliminated or used up as fuel (if you work out), the rest will solidify again until next treatment. The tightening effect is achieved thru inducing your own skin's collagen production by the head induced by radio frequency, you might see some results right away but even more results within 48 hours post treatment.
