Folk legend Woody Guthrie's unfinished songs see the light of day in this special performance by International Bluegrass Music Hall of Famer Del McCoury. Throughout the concert, historical audio and video footage will bring to life Guthrie's words. A 2014 Grammy winner and recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts lifetime achievement award, McCoury began his career with the father of bluegrass, Bill Monroe, in 1963 and has been keeping the music alive ever since with his sons, the stellar mandolin player Ronnie and banjo picker Rob. One of the most influential figures in 20th century music, Woody Guthrie left behind lyrics to over 3,000 never-heard songs. Now the Del McCoury Band has taken 30 of the best songs, selected by Guthrie's daughter, and set the folk poet's words to music. The result is a historic concert and collaboration across the decades by two of folk music's greats.
