The Cellar Door curates a menu of savory morsels to help fuel social gatherings inside its festive winery setting. Twosomes or foursomes can commence their chew-a-thons by peeling slices of meat and cheese from a platter until they discover the serving tray’s molten core. After a coordinated server intercepts the decimated plate, groups can chow down on their choice of hot tapas, such as grilled shrimp and asparagus with sautéed potatoes, carrot sauce, and crisp phyllo. Homemade tortilla chips accompany smoked grilled chicken and roasted-corn relish, and The Cellar Door’s culinary wunderkinds also treat meat-free noshers with vegetarian tapas. About The Cellar Door
The sommeliers at The Cellar Door, Katy's only bistro and winery, share their love of liquids by vending fine wines made onsite and conducting wine-education classes. They source grapes from Texas, California, international regions, and Martian vineyards, fermenting them into more than 15 red and white wines. At the bistro, the onsite certified chefs craft a range of artisan food made specifically to pair with the wine from within a newly remodeled kitchen. The newly revamped menu features selections include flatbreads such as the Bordeaux Meat Lover's and appetizers such as beef sliders. Visitors can also charter the banquet room for private, catered tasting parties, during which they can design their own labels, or join their wine club.
The Cellar Door's comely decor surrounds visitors in classic wine-themed scenery, with a mural of a Tuscan vineyard and a statue of Sophia Loren made from grapes. The winery also hosts live music performances every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night at 7 p.m.
