A full, live gospel choir adds to the experience in this drama about the founding pastor of a megachurch who feels compelled to lead his thousands-strong flock in a new and unexpected direction on its 20th anniversary -- one that directly conflicts with the former tenets of his ministry. But when questions begin to arise about his motivations, both his professional and personal relationships are put to the test as well. L.A.'s Center Theatre Group brings the West Coast premiere of Lucas Hnath's The Christians to the Mark Taper Forum. The New York Times called it "a terrific play about the mystery of faith, and how it can tear people apart just as it can bring them together."
The show runs approximately one hour and 30 minutes, with no intermission.
