Choose Between Two Options

  • $399 for a five-day animation workshop (a $900 value)
  • $399 for a three-day audio engineering and recording workshop (a $990 value)

During the animation course, students will begin by learning 2D animation principles, eventually working up to 3D-character animation. While working in 3D, instructors will teach students to create an acting reference and how to plan the animation. Students will spend the final day visiting a Kelowna-based animation studio and presenting their work. This workshop runs July 20–24 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and is suitable for students 17 and older.

The audio-engineering session is a crash course for students who want a career in music. Pupils aged 17 and older will record a live band and create a track during the workshop, learning such skills as cutting bed tracks, patching gear for overdubs, and mixing on a console. Sessions meet on Sundays, July 14, 21, and 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Centre for Arts and Technology

With campuses in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and British Columbia, Centre for Arts and Technology draws on the local arts scenes in these provinces, while also staying connected to each other through video conferencing. This allows students to explore and participate with their neighborhood arts community and still be able to take a class across the country. These class programs may include animation, music production, filmmaking, photography, interior design, and web design, which is home decorating for spiders. Its strong selection of arts courses explains how the centre has built its list of industry contacts over more than 30 years, which aid students on their career paths.
