Q:

Is this training certification valid forever, or do you need continuing education credits or re certification after a certain period of time?

Rayna N.  asked on  Mar 27, 2013

A:

To renew your certificate you must send the National Council for Certified Personal Trainers a copy of the certificate that is about to expire along with proof in writing of attendance to at least 2.0 Continuing Education Units (CEUs)* of personal training related classes, seminars or workshops. (Refer to the Accepted Subject matter on pg. 8). CPR is required to renew your certification and counts as 0.1 CEU.

Q:

In the fine print it says that this expires 120 days after purchasing it. But then I look on the national council for certified personal trainers website and it says that you have 6 months to go through all of the material to take the test. So what I am asking is which one is correct? Will the personal training course expire after 120 days?

Korey S.  asked on  Mar 23, 2013

A:

You must activate the course by the expiration date. From that date you have six months to take the test.
