Q:

with this certification i would be a personal trainer? or are there different certifications needed

Jennifer C.  asked on  Oct 30, 2012

A:

Upon passing the exam the candidate will receive a "Certified Personal Trainer" Certification which meets the requirements for employment at most commercial training facilities, however, it is encouraged for candidates to do their own research in this regard, and tell them that if they are interested in working at a particular facility they should contact that facility and ask them what their requirements are.

Q:

Can you tell me how the company coorporates with their website membership fee? Do we get a discount on other products and full use of the website? Why are there so few members on your faculty list; http://nccpt.com/User/facultysearch.aspx? Also how many questions on the exam , 238? Bad reviews of the test. Its too hard they say. http://www.starting-a-personal-training-business.com/nccpt.html

Andrew P.  asked on  Oct 29, 2012

A:

Membership is not required, but an optional program. If you choose to participate, you get up to 20% discount and have the ability to earn commissions.

Membership discount cannot be combined with the already reduced Groupon pricing, but would apply to other products for those who opt to participate in the membership program.

Using the provided link, if you select "View All" you will see three pages of faculty.

The exam is 140 multiple choice questions.

The "old" NCCPT exam (prior to NCCA Accreditation) had 238 questions. Perhaps the person who thought it was too hard took that exam, however, on that same link there are many positive reviews of NCCPT as well.

Q:

How long this certification is valid for? Are there continued study/learning/re-certification requirements to keep the certification current?

Asif Z.  asked on  Oct 29, 2012

A:

The certification is valid for 2 years from the date you pass the exam.

Yes, there are requirements to keep the certification current. All certifications have an expiration date which is what differentiates them from a college degree. NCCPT continuing education requirements are standard for the industry: 2.0 CEUs.

Q:

Is it available for persons out the US

Marina C.  asked on  Oct 30, 2012

A:

Unfortunately, our system is only able to process credit cards from certain areas outside of the US. On both the purchase page and in the credit cards section of your "My Account" page, there is a "State/Province" drop-down menu. If your card is registered in a country or state that is not currently on this list, then you will not be able to use it for a Groupon purchase.

We are continually adding valid billing locations, so please check back soon! We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.

Q:

Once I start the course, how long do we have until we can finish it? Does it need to be completed by expiration date or just activated?

Silvia L.  asked on  Oct 28, 2012

A:

Your Groupon must be activated by the expiration date. Your exam must be taken within 6 months of your activation date.

Q:

does this offer expiration mean I have to take the text by Feb 2013 or initiate using the curriculum by the exp. date? thanks, Dawn

DL M.  asked on  Oct 28, 2012

A:

Thanks for the question! You simply need to initiate using the curriculum by the expiration date. The promotional value of this Groupon expires on Feb 27, 2013. You can always use this Groupon voucher for the amount paid, which never expires.
