Texan witches often cursed their enemies with the Tex-Mex Hex—causing them to weep ranchero sauce, sprout burritos on their arms, and turn everything they touched into refried beans. Celebrate a more benevolent form of this delectable magic with today's Groupon: for $15, you get $30 worth of food and drink at Cesar's. If you dine between the hours of 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., the value of this Groupon is worth $35. This deal is only valid at the location on Broadway.
Cesar's fosters food-filled fiestas with a cavalcade of authentic Mexican meals and the restaurant's infamous "killer margaritas." Abet the alcoholic drinks as they flee from the long arm of the libation law by ordering a margarita in large ($9), jumbo ($10), mega ($11), or pitcher ($32) sizes. Margaritas are available frozen or on the rocks, and in numerous guises, including guava, peach, lime, mango, banana, strawberry, or one of several seasonal flavors. For patrons born with margarita mix already flowing through their veins, Cesar's also serves up beers in domestic ($3.25) and imported ($4.25) varieties.
After toasting to birthdays or break-ups, guests can wash down their margaritas with a dish from Cesar's menu. Dig into dining with a basket of quesadillas ($7) with bean dip and sour cream. Or try the super nachos ($10), topped with more pork than government funding allocated for a senator's swimming pool. Pick the outdoor seating for great views of other outdoors as you nosh on entrees such as tilapia fish tacos with mango-cucumber pico de gallo ($8), homemade chicken tamales ($9), or enchiladas smothered in mole poblano ($12). Other highlights include cheese-stuffed chiles rellenos ($12), white-wine-marinated shrimp fajitas ($16), and pork ribs simmered in salsa verde ($12).
Cesar's is really busy on Friday and Saturday nights, so come early.
Cesar's was reviewed by Centerstage. Over 230 Yelpers give it a three-star average, 82% of Urbanspooners like it, and although there are some mixed opinions about the service, almost everyone agrees that their margarita's are fantastic.
- Prepare for an overindulgent night of food and drink. Starters like the delightful cheese quesadilla basket served with beans and sour cream, the super nachos and the tortipizza, layered with fresh cilantro, cheese, beans, tomatoes and onions, can easily fill you up before you've even glanced at the rest of the menu. – Colin Douglas, Centerstage
- The spinach enchildadas [sic] are excellent (and for a vegetarian who always orders cheese enchildadas [sic], a nice change). and of course the margaritas are great too (and ginormous!). – Christie, Urbanspoon
Cesar's oversized margaritas, in flavors including peach, raspberry, and blue curaçao, bolster chatter over time-tested dishes such as enchiladas, fajitas, and rellenos. On clear days, a rooftop deck proffers views of the skyline and cars' receding hairlines, and comfy couches throughout the eatery serve as ideal venues for contented postmeal sighs. Cesar's third floor sports two bars and a lounge bathed in ultramarine light and pulsing rhythms, which roll down exposed-brick walls. Beneath the dining room's idyllic murals and life-size replica of the sun, bottles of imported Mexican brews clink gleefully over steaming plates.
