When the last room at an inn had to be shared by a canoeing outdoorsman and a traveling pasta saleswoman, the term canoodling was born. Enjoy an etymologically romantic escape with today's Groupon to Chalet Suzanne in Lake Wales. Choose between two room options:
- For $115, you get a one-night stay for two in any $169 room, plus a champagne welcome (a $289 value).
- For $123, you get a one-night stay for two in any $189 room, plus a champagne welcome (a $309 value).
Chalet Suzanne's scenic 100-acre sanctuary has harbored lovebirds, lustbirds, and human-shaped butterflies for more than 70 years. Browse the roster of relaxing rooms, each rich with antiques and complemented by air conditioning, a private bath, and a decanter of sherry to ensure utmost comfort and calm. Steep in serenity with views overlooking Lake Suzanne, or cast your eyes on the nearby airplane landing strip to watch as other guests arrive on bareback griffin. Upon arrival, you and your getaway companion will get to clink chilled glasses of Veuve Clicquot (or a comparable champagne) before exploring Chalet Suzanne's enchanting alcoves featuring five elegant dining rooms, a gift shop, ceramic shop, pool, spa, and citrus grove.
Come morning, mouths can wake up slowly by snuggling a country breakfast from Chalet Suzanne's award-winning menu. Famous for gourmet soups canned on-site, Chalet Suzanne can fend off both hunger and gravity for traveling astronauts. Before you leave, take comfort in a turn-down service complete with fruit, homemade truffles, and sheet creases as crisp as a freshly picked potato chip.
Though Chalet Suzanne offers midweek discounts on its website, this Groupon still offers the best deal available and is valid for any day of the week.
- The Garden is in the midst of the cottages, which look like an Alice in Wonderland children's pop-up book on the outside; inside it's all super-luxe modern comfort with telephones, television, private bath, Jacuzzi (in some), fresh flowers, decanter of sherry and hard candy. The accommodations have never looked better; nor has the dining room, which for years has been one of my absolute favorites in the entire country. A special-occasion, damn-the-expense kind of gem with unique table settings, friendly dirndle-clad waitresses and a menu that is solidly consistent. – Robert Tolf, Sun-Sentinel
- Chalet Suzanne is Olde World Charming! Very comfortable, the staff is knowledgeable and all of them very friendly. What a rare find. It was a pleasure to visit this historic inn. – designershirl, TripAdvisor
