Choose Between Two Options
- $45 for a standup-paddleboarding lesson for one, coastal tour, and 30-minute free paddle (a $150 value)
- $79 for a standup-paddle boarding lesson for two, coastal tour, and 30-minute free paddle (a $300 value)
Standup-paddleboard lessons take place on land and in the water, teaching students basic information about the equipment and paddling techniques. The tour starts off with a lesson, where students learn the ropes and how to paddle and stay on their boards. Once in the water, groups spend another 10–20 minutes getting acclimated before heading out. Students and guides paddle around Oxnard Harbor for 40 minutes, observing local wildlife including crabs, marine birds, and sea stars. It’s not uncommon for groups to spy sea lions at play or rest. Before heading back to the shore, the paddle boarders have 30 minutes to free board and explore the harbor on their own.
Channel Islands Kayak Center
Scenes of learning and enjoyment spark infectious enthusiasm among Channel Islands Kayak Center's guides, who thrive on bringing adventurers up close to the wildlife of Channel Islands Harbor and Ventura Harbor. The team furnishes independent explorers with kayak rentals, which include safety briefings so kayakers can tell the difference between a sea lion and an actual lion.
