What You'll Get
There's a fine line between a wine snob and a wine slob, chiefly determined by the number of nasal hairs that protrude when one wrinkles their nose in disgust. Enjoy wine without pretension with today's Groupon: for $22, you get a wine tasting experience for two at Chateau St. Croix Winery & Vineyard in St. Croix Falls (a $45.32 total value), including:
• A tasting of five different wines and winery tour (a $20 value)
• A sample cheese platter (an $8.44 value)
• Assorted chocolates (a $6.33 value)
• Two wine glasses to take home (a $10.55 value)
Designed in the image of a European estate, Chateau St. Croix Winery & Vineyard treats wine lovers to picturesque views of well-manicured gardens, rolling vineyards, an art gallery, and a fishing pond—as well as savory sips of more than a dozen different varieties of wine. The half-hour winery tour familiarizes visitors with the intimate details of wine-making, from the verdant vineyards and the juicy production process to the oak-cask fermentation and gentle coaxing of varietals into their cozy glass homes. With a greater appreciation of the winemaking process, newly minted experts are presented with a sampling of five different wines, which they can sip and savor between noshing sessions on assorted chocolates and a platter of cheeses. After the tasting, visitors are sent home with their own pair of wine glasses, with which they can reenact their favorite wine-drinking scenes from Armageddon.

About Chateau St. Croix Winery
A true appreciation for wine can be uncovered in the lush wine valleys of Europe, where history and tradition are as rich as the wine itself. Bringing this sensibility to the states, Chateau St. Croix Winery was created in the image of a French estate. The winery is expansive, complete with vineyard, a carriage house, stables, gardens and art gallery.
The heart of the establishment, however, is its 2.5 acres of grapes, nearly five tons of which are grown in six varieties for use in their award-winning wines. In the chateau itself, visitors sample the winery's sundry varietals and blends, pairing each sip with artisanal cheeses and crackers.
