About Chen's Shanghai Kitchen
Just a glance at Chen's menu tells you the chefs here are versatile: it reveals a kitchen that layers curries, onions, and herbs into complex networks of flavor and pan-fries a simple ingredients to coax out their natural nuances. The dim sum selection alone here is generous, with options that include steamed soup buns, beef rolls, pan fried pork dumpling, and pan fried pumpkin cake. Then there are classic noodle dishes such as dan dan noodle with a spicy peanut sauce and Shanghai-style wonton soup in another favorite. Some of Chen's most beloved plates are tea-smoked chicken and Shanghai-style crab but Cheng's also invites diners to learn more about the traditional side of Chinese cuisine with dishes like spicy pig's ear and shredded eel noodle soup, just a few of the specialties of the house.
