Classes are beginner friendly, and our focus is fun, not competition. Instructors make learning to dance easy by reviewing steps in each class and giving you practice time.
What’s one tip for first-time students that will make them feel like veterans?
Practice makes perfect. You’ll want to practice between classes. When you come to our monthly Social Dance Party you’ll have a chance to meet other dancers, practice dancing, and find out where to go dancing in the area. If you enjoy dancing, invest in a pair of ballroom or Latin dance shoes.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
We know dance! - we’ve had that certain something for over 47 years. Our long and successful history is known throughout D.C. and beyond. And, we can say for sure that there’s no place like Chevy Chase Ballroom. We are 100% confident in our faculty, training methods and friendly teaching style. Our time-tested track record helps us create the kind of dance that draws you in and captures your imagination
What do you love most about your job?
All of our instructors love teaching because of our own passion for dance. The reward of teaching others to dance is watching someone who knows nothing about dance become comfortable with themselves and enjoy music, dance, and life in a way they never knew possible.
