What You'll Get
The best artists, like the best un-mad scientists, possess a willingness to experiment and ignore clichés. Discover your own untapped talent with today's Groupon: for $22, you get a BYOB open art class at Chicago Art and Design Center (a $45 value).
Chicago Art and Design Center's open classes foster creative growth, fueling students' imaginations with weekly themes and plentiful art supplies. Groups of all ages gather around long tables stocked with paints, markers, crayons, or cut tiles to cobble together a creative vision inspired by the current evening's theme. Bottles hiss and corks pop as attendees unleash their imaginations during sessions sporting themes such as Red, Coffee, or Tango With Your Brush, and instructors are continuously on hand to clarify techniques or correct the angle of patrons' berets. As beverages run dry and clocks wind down, students depart with a fresh personal piece of art under their arm, ready to be hung at home or safely hidden beneath a worthless Picasso.
The Fine Print

About Chicago Art and Design Center
Aspiring artists from all walks of life are welcome at Chicago Art and Design Center, where instructors guide guests through hands-on oil-painting, watercolor, and mosaic-making sessions. Whether they're there for a class, a bachelorette party, or a practice art-heist, visitors to the green-walled studio are encouraged to get creative.
BYOB art parties help nervous artisans loosen up enough to create their own paintings or mosaics. At the other end of the age spectrum, kids can also get in on the fun: besides twice-weekly open art studios and themed birthday parties, children can sign up for painting classes, knitting and embroidery sessions, and hands-on fashion-design camps.
