Q:

Based on the Q&A, I see that this class alone does not qualify a participant for gun ownership in Chicago. Can this course be supplemented with 2 additional hours to meet the requirement or does an entirely different course need to be taken?

Lou O.  asked on  Sep 20, 2012

A:

Lou, You can take the City of Chicago conseal class we offer to qualify for residents in Chicago. Visit our website http://www.chicagofirearminstructors.com

Q:

A couple questions: 1). Is the class training and range experience all on the same day? 2). Do you have to have a FOID card to participate? 3). In the description, it says the $125 fee includes range fee and ammunition. But above it says there is an extra fee for those. Which is correct? Steven Field

Steven F.  asked on  Sep 17, 2012

A:

Hi Steven, It is two seperate dates. One is classroom time for 3 hours. Then at the end of the class, everyone will come into an agreement for the shooting range date which will only be for one hour at the shooting range. You do not have to have a FOID card. Yes for $125 it includes the range and ammunition fee.

Q:

Hello! Do you have to bring your own fire arm? Or is one provided for classroom purposes? Is one provided for range purposes? Thank You, N

Nancy K.  asked on  Sep 17, 2012

A:

Hi Nancy, On the class date, no one is to bring their firearm. One can bring their own firearm if they want to ONLY on the day of the shooting range. If you do not have a firearm, one will be provided for you.

A:

The question pertained to the Chicago requirement that to register a firearm, you must have completed an approved NRA-type class. Does this meet that requirement?

Q:

I'm confused. In one section of the details, it reads "extra fee for range fee and ammunition costs." Later it reads "tuition includes range fee and ammunition costs." Which one is it? Also, there is no mention if firearms will be provided or if student must bring their own.

John K.  asked on  Sep 17, 2012

A:

John, For the orignial price of $225, then ammunition and range fee is included. If you purchase our groupon deal, then the fee for range and amunition is $25. Firearms are provided on the day of the shooting range. You do not need to bring your own firearm.
