About Chicago Flower & Garden Show presented by Mariano's
Since 1847, the Chicago Flower & Garden Show presented by Mariano's fertilizes the minds of gardeners with workshops and seminars led by horticulture experts and professional landscapers. During workshops designed to inspire, educate, and motivate the next generation of gardener, participants roll up their sleeves and get involved, gaining tactile experience planting annuals and perennials or training ladybugs to defend against aphids. At flower-arranging classes, master florists coach students through the process of positioning buds and fronds in artful bundles, and local landscape designers, builders, and suppliers create feature landscapes and garden vignette displays to demonstrate the possibilities for visitors' own gardens, yards, or balconies.
In addition to hands-on workshops, the event showcases live cooking demonstrations with some of the Windy City’s top chefs, floral exhibits, shopping spaces with more than 100 vendors showcasing green and eco-friendly products and services, cake-decorating competitions showcased in conjunction with the Chicago Area Retail Bakers Association, and more, all wrapped up in a family-friendly event.
