the woman who took my call arranged everything ahead of time. Made my daughter's bday a huge hit. Couldn't have been better in organizing, HOWEVER....the girls reported that they travelled VERY close to the traffic many times. In one instance, one of her friends lost her balance just as she was approaching a pole on the sidewalk, and if she had veered just a little to the left she would have gone straight into traffic and been hit! So while I say "recommend" I wouldn't take the Lakefront tour again. Just not worth the risk. I was shocked that the girls reported that not once, but several times, the tour was riding VERY near traffic. Not cool guys. not cool

We enjoyed our Segway tour of Chicago very much. I saw parts of Chicago that were new to me even though I have been there many times before. The guide was very knowledgeable about Chicago history and made sure we had a safe and fun tour.

What You'll Get

Segways have proven to be a safe and popular way to explore a city's skyline, edging out catapult tours and window-washing temp gigs. Let your gaze do the sky scraping with today’s Groupon: for $34, you get a two- to three-hour Chicago skyscraper segway tour from Bike and Roll Chicago (a $69 value).

Bike and Roll Chicago's tower-savvy guides lead rolling packs of two-wheelers on a historical exploration of how and when the city’s skyline came to be after the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. Groups coast down the Riverwalk, darting through buildings’ massive shadows as they learn of pioneering architects and their innovations, from the invention of the sky to the realization that it may have been placed just out of reach. The gyroscopically engineered vehicles carry tourists to the lakefront to glimpse the skyline view in full, ensconced by water-born breezes. Bike and Roll Chicago strongly recommends wearing closed-toe athletic shoes on the segway to ensure comfort and protect from high-speed toe-stubbings.
