Alter Brewing started as the dream of three men with a passion for beer. It has grown into a friendly hub where novices and experts alike can gather to enjoy craft beer. Hear from the staff about the brewing process as you sample some of their foundational clean and simple brews everyone has come to appreciate.
Whiskey Hill Brewery is quickly making a name for itself. Brewer Eric Flores honed his skills at Goose Island and produces a variety of beers from both traditional and barrel-aging brewing processes. Hear from Eric and his team as they talk about what is behind each of the 4 beers provided in your flight and hand-picked for you by Eric.

Afterthought Brewing is a small family run saison-focused brewery. Your evening starts with a personal tasting experience and conversation, unique to Brews Cruise guests, about these Belgium influenced beers. Their saisons take inspiration from Old World traditions, incorporate American and other New World fruit and hops, and emphasize the use of oak and fermentation with yeast and bacteria outside of traditional brewer’s yeast.
Next we head to Elmhurst Brewing for another flight of beer, an optional tour of their production facility, and to order some food. For over 4 years, Elmhurst Brewing has been featuring a diverse variety of hand-crafted brews, from German-style lagers, to west and east coast IPA's, to APA's, to fruited sours, and stouts. Make sure to try their most talked-about beer, Fool's Gold, a rare golden coffee stout. And EBC's from-scratch kitchen offers a fresh cheeseburger, spicy pork fried rice, fish and chips, and beer-battered cheese curds, to name a few.

About Take the train out or drive over to the Geneva Metra Station where we start our leisurely ride through the countryside west of the 'burbs in the comforts of our Brews Crews bus. The tour includes stops at Acquaviva Winery, Whiskey Acres Distillery and Obscurity Brewery. Ticket includes a tasting experience of 6 wines, samples of bourbon, rye and vodka, and a flight of 5 beers!
We visit the 85-acre estate and vineyard of Acquaviva Winery and their quaint Market. One of their experts will guide us through a tasting experience of 6 of their wines.
Whiskey Acres Distillery is situated in the farmlands of Dekalb, IL. It was started by a 5th generation of farmers who grow all their own ingredients for their products. They will provide you with a personalized tasting experience where you will quickly learn why the awards continue to pile up for them.
At Obscurity Brewing you will enjoy a tasting experience with a flight of 5 beers encompassing a variety of styles and beer processing methods. Feel free to purchase something off their much talked about BBQ menu.

Beer samples and beer knowledge for miles. That's some of what's in store on three-hour tours with Brews Cruise, where guides unveil what goes into the craft behind craft beers. In the span of a few hours, participants get a chance to meet brewers and learn how beer is made all the way through the bottling stage. Along the way, they can observe every step of the process in a working brewery and ask brew-specific questions.
