About EdVenture at Myrtle Beach

It's natural for kids to engage in creative play, becoming architects, meteorologists, scientists, and even swashbuckling pirates inside their own imaginations. EdVenture Myrtle Beach helps them learn while they do it. Perhaps that's why the museum—like the scores of children who visit it—has continued to grow since opening as South Carolina's first children's museum in 1994. In over two decades, the museum, designed for children aged 8 and under, has expanded from a small shopping-mall space to a 7,500-square-foot facility packed with interactive exhibits.

Kids can uncover dinosaur skeletons in the Dino Dig, pilot a passenger jet in the Flight Simulator, assemble electronic devices in the Circuit Center, and explore the scientific method in Water Works. Meanwhile, the Weather Center lets young forecasters appear on TV reporting the weather, and the USS Kids-A-Float exhibit explores the parts of a boat and how South Carolina's pirates might have weighed their treasure. All these exhibits and many more (including a special area for kids 3 and under) are included with admission, while add-ons like gem mining and T-shirt designing are available for an additional cost. The museum also hosts weekday programs that range from storytelling to hands-on experiments.
