Chiles & Chocolate’s complex mole sauces permeate a menu culled from the southern Mexican province of Oaxaca. Diners can begin meals by brandishing elote de el zocalo, fire-roasted corn on the cob sprinkled with chipotle and chocolate and pre-equipped with extra-crunchy sound effects. The mole negro entree harvests dried chilies, chocolates, sesame seeds, plantains, and more than a dozen other spices and ingredients from the Mercado de Abastos in Oaxaca, ready to smother a choice of half chicken, pork loin, or grilled veggies. The enchiladas XOXO holds a snuggle session with chicken- or oaxacan-cheese-filled tortillas doused in red or green chili sauce. Dessert ropes in traditional sweets such as flan and the platano con chocolate, a banana draped in chocolate mousse. The oaxacallate bebida, a light but sweet finale, whisks together espresso, chocolate, and milk steamed by reading it romantic poetry.

It was an overall great experience. The food was cooked perfectly, I don't eat food that is too spicy, and this food had just the right amount of spice for me, and my boyfriend was able to order something else that had more spice for his liking.
