About Choplin's Restaurant
Some of Chef Wes Choplin's earliest memories of cooking were seeing his grandmother, a true "country cook," prepare big meals for her entire family. He remembers the love she brought to her Southern kitchen and brings that same soul-warming atmosphere to Choplin's Restaurant.
In addition to the welcoming environment, the restaurant delights customers with seasonal ingredients and a regularly changing menu. Choplin uses fresh diver scallops and Carolina shrimp, caught in local waters, along with straight-from-the-farm produce from growers. Although the dishes are always influenced by traditional southern cuisine, they also incorporate unique elements such as the shrimp and grits flavored with honey, cilantro, and chili sauce or the catfish nestled in a reuben sandwich.
