Tresetti’s Mardi Gras
On February 17, Tresetti’s World Caffe and a whole block of 11th Street once again transform into the French Quarter for the 21st annual Mardi Gras party. The celebration, which kicks off at 6 p.m., features four full stages of music where masked revelers can shake it to the tunes of live rock bands and DJs. A Mardi Gras parade elates those hoping to garner or barter beads, and delicious hurricane drinks keep partygoers going from Fat Tuesday night through early Chubby Wednesday morning.
St. Patrick's Day Lucky Fest
What do you call it when 25 pubs spontaneously appear in a city square? A very lucky day. The party runs from 12 p.m. to 2 a.m. at a gallery of custom-made, Ireland-themed bars and restaurants on 11th Street between K and L. But the canvas drinking holes are hardly the most eye-catching part of the party—that honor is a toss up between Grace O'Malley's Fantastic Voyage, a DJ stage shaped like a life-size pirate ship, and the EDM ball held at 51 Fifty Celtic Chaos Irish Castle, a fortress of funk built for one night only.
