While working as an art teacher at a public school in St. Louis, Glass Class's owner, Christal Cerrone, began her journey into the world of glass by repairing the stained-glass windows of local theaters and historic buildings. A move to San Francisco presented Christal with the opportunity to further hone her skills, and she began to create stained-glass windows for homes, memorials, and tricked-out family station wagons. Twenty-three years later, with work featured on HGTV's That's Clever!, the art educator in Christal still shines through as she teaches kids and adults to make their own masterpieces with materials including dichroic glass and metals.
The custom creations that emerge from Christal's studio can be both decorative and functional. Classes include all required materials for possible projects, such as necklaces, lamps, or life-size replicas of the Louvre pyramid. In addition to classes, a lineup of camps for kids aged 9 and older help youngsters to master diamond tools and work with glass.
