My wedding is on June 19th, and I went to Christina's Salon & Boutique to get my fingernails and toenails done for my big day. I purchased the one shellac manicure and one spa pedicure because Google says that properly applied shellac nails should "remain shiny and chip-free for 14 to 21 days." However, Christina shared her doubts that it would last for one week before my wedding. The picture advertised with this Groupon deal shows french tip nails. When I arrived, I asked Christina if I could do french tips, and she did not have white nail polish and stated that it would have been an upcharge. If there is an upcharge for french nails, it should not be advertised as part of the Groupon deal. Christina was very friendly and offered to make time for me to come in next week, but my bridal shower was this coming weekend, so I needed to have them done as soon as possible. There was a minuscule selection of shellac polish, and I settled on light pink because there were no nude or neutral colors (personally I do not like pink at all). There was not a large selection of regular polish either, so I went with an off-white color. My cuticles were not pushed back for my toes or fingernails. The paint applied to my toes and fingernails did not cover the whole nail either. Both have a wavy appearance since my cuticles were painted over. I have dead skin around my fingers and toes that, from past experience, was removed as part of the mani/pedi. When I walked outside after the appointment, my off-white toenail polish was smeared (I got toes done before nails, so it should have dried by that point). I also had the polish surrounding my toe on the skin. My mother-in-law suggested getting a clear coat from Walmart to use daily for my toes to last. When I used the clear coat, the polish seemed to smear, so I immediately stopped. I am usually not one to complain, especially because Christina is so personable and nice, but I felt as if I did not get what I paid for. I now have to go to another nail salon the week before my wedding to have them remove my toes and nails and redo them with french tips before the big day. I hope that this business improves, but please please read all the comments on Groupon before purchasing a service. I will be requesting a refund.
