Camp, a right of passage in any child’s life, can often be undertaken without mandatory screenings of Monty Python. Find an alternate initiation with today’s Groupon: for $195, you get a five-day summer-camp session at Christina’s Art Adventure Camp in Belmont (a $390 value).
Experienced educator and camp director Christina Stenstrom began Christina’s Art Adventure Camp to help girls age 8–14 learn their own creative potential in business and the arts. Running in weekday installments during the summer, the five-hour-a-day camp highlights myriad hobbies and possible career interests such as video production, theater, and culinary pursuits. Hopeful fashionistas can create a show-stopping piece of jewelry or walk the runway while dabbling in green-screen technology and beginners' teleportation. Campers socialize with new friends while painting or sack racing, helping them to develop confidence and Survivor-like instincts during a variety of group projects.
