Welcome to Groupon, Stockton! For our inaugural deal, $7 for $14 worth of burgers and more at Chuck's Hamburgers located at 6034 Pacific Ave. Since this is everyone's first Groupon, allow us to briefly explain how it works.
How Groupon Works
Groupon is a combination of the words group and coupon. Each day, we offer an unbeatable deal on the best of Stockton: restaurants, spas, sporting events, theatre, and more. By promising businesses a minimum number of customers, we get discounts you won't find anywhere else. We call it "collective buying power."
If you want to get the deal, just click BUY before the offer ends at midnight. If the minimum number of people (30 for today's deal) sign up by the end of the day, you'll be emailed a gift certificate the next morning. You can print your Groupons, or redeem them with our mobile app. Use them whenever you want until the deal expires—today's expires in four months. If not enough people join, no one gets the deal (and you won't be charged), so invite your friends to make sure you get the discount!
A diner's oversized booths and oversized pies have long been a beacon of hope for teens dumped after prom and frowny clowns looking for new novelty-sized props. Take refuge in the crispy crust of an old-fashioned eatery with today's Groupon: for $7, you get $14 worth of gigantic pancakes, famous burgers, and more at Chuck's Hamburgers, a Stockton dining institution known for its hefty proportions and laid-back atmosphere.
Pull up a booth or slide into a barstool before cozying up with a menu to peruse the lineup of old-school diner eats. Stop in early for a platter-sized pancake ($1.95) or a huge Spanish omelette with ortega peppers, onions, cheese, salsa, giant pile of hash browns, and choice of toast (white, wheat, rye, sourdough, english muffin, one pancake, or biscuit)—a half order fills the full-sized plate ($4.95 half; $6.75 full). Chuck's hamburgers are known throughout the land, with fresh-ground meat that's hand-formed into hot, juicy American icons. Keep it classic with the king hamburger (a 1/3-pound beef patty with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, and mayo, $3.90; add extras such as bacon and cheese from the fixin' list, $0.35–$0.95 apiece) and a huge basket of fresh-cooked french fries ($2.15), or experiment with the flavors of the bogie burger, a 1/3-pound patty of country sausage served in an english muffin, with all the fixings ($4.50).
Chuck's family-run restaurant has been an area staple since 1950, when it miraculously emerged from the mist following a three-month french fry drought. Their high level of generosity in portioning makes it difficult for one person to eat his or her way through today's Groupon, so bring some friends or a sentient, fun-loving chipper-shredder and dig into a mountain of delights.
Chuck's Hamburgers has more than 90 Yelpers praising it with a four-star average rating.
