Vintage Ferraris ran on a high-octane mixture of tomato sauce and parmesan, a savory blend that eventually turned petty car thieves into bona fide pasta barons. Get a baron's share of this desirable concoction with today's deal to Ciao Italian Restaurant. This Groupon is good for food purchases only. Choose one of the following options:

  • For $15, you get $30 worth of dinner fare.
  • For $7, you get $15 worth of lunch fare.

Ciao Italian Restaurant bridges the 5,000-mile gap of land and sea between Arkansas and Italy to bring traditional Italian cuisine to Little Rock diners. Start your surveillance of Ciao's dinner menu with an order of wild mushroom ravioli ($7.95) treading in a sherry cream sauce pool, or carb up with focaccia ($3.79). In the coliseum of main courses, the pasta Elizabeth ($8.79 for a half order, $14.99 for a full), with salmon, tomatoes, capers, spinach, and mushrooms, emerges as a gullet-pleasing gladiatrix, while meat eaters will melt at the feet of the veal parmiagianna ($15.99), crested with mozzarella cheese and bedded atop pillows of red-sauced pasta.

In business for the past 25 years, Ciao also serves smart, speedy lunches, including "lunch express" items ($5.45 each), such as spaghetti Bolognese, fettuccini alfredo and fried beef ravioli, for bank robbers seeking Italian eats while on the lam from Giovanni Law. Step into Ciao's serene setting of deep ocean blues and steel-reserve grays, and scare away telemarketing vampires through copious intakes of garlic.

Ciao is open for lunch Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and for dinner Thursday through Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

  • The unassuming hole-in-the-wall eatery sports white walls, black tablecloths, red napkins and a display of local artwork. What comes out of Chef Tony Mobly's kitchen, though, could be described as dressy and delicious. – Arkansas Times Staff
  • The star of the show was the marinara sauce. Hate to admit it, but it's better than my homemade sauce. – Amazzzing_Larry, TripAdvisor

About Ciao Italian Restaurant

A downtown mainstay for more than a quarter century, Ciao Italian Restaurant quells cravings with Prime Omaha beef and house-made sugar-free marinara rife with garlic, basil, and olive oil. Chef Tony, the eatery's epicurean mastermind, pours more than three decades of culinary experience into the preparation of Maryland-style crab cakes and fettuccine alfredo seasoned with pepper and ground nutmeg. Servers ferry glasses of pomegranate margaritas to tables dressed in gray linens and patrons sink forks into creamy cannolis imported from New York City's Little Italy. The venue's cozy dining area seats businessmen for quick lunches, couples for candlelit dinners, and canine actors for Lady and the Tramp scene studies.
