Questions and Answers 10 questions

Q:

I am an adult beginner. what should I expect to able to do after taking the course?

SUSAN G.  asked on  Dec 10, 2011

A:

We follow the curriculum used by the Spanish government to teach Spanish to foreigners. Beginner I will cover the first half of the "Aula I" textbook. You will get the basics of the alphabet, pronunciation, time, weather, presentation, salutations, and begin conjugating and using the 'essentail' verbs. Consider this course the foundation for your Spanish education. During beginner II you will start to read short stories and get into basic conversation. If you elect to take the Beginner Fast Track course, you will complete the entire "Aula I" testbook and cover Beginner I & II. Thanks for your question and we hope to see you in class!

Q:

What methods do you use to teach Spanish? Do you use any technology as a resource? I studied Spanish a long time ago in school and would really love to really learn the language. I recently tried a self-study program but it's no fun learning a language alone so am looking for classes. Thank you!

K D.  asked on  Dec 9, 2011

A:

We believe in an interactive, hands-on approach. We use the same textbooks used by the Spanish government to tech Spanish to foreign newcomers. We use listening excercises and also provide Spanish movie nights and conversational opportunities throughout the course. It never hurts to supplement classes with self-study too!!!
