What You'll Get
A choral lover's dream, the May Festival brings you a slew of vocal masterpieces performed by the May Festival Chorus and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. This year's festival includes Verdi's Otello, which translates Shakespeare's tale of pride, deceit, jealousy and passion into a beautiful and virtuosic choral piece. From the iconic villain Iago to the brave general Othello and his beloved Desdemona, a soloist gives voice to each of the characters as they head toward tragedy. A "must-hear" for the festival is Dvorák's rarely performed Stabat Mater, one of his most powerful and personal works. See these concerts honoring James Conlon's final season as music director before Cincinnati Music Hall closes for renovation.
