Each tour takes place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Circle Brewing Company owners Ben Sabel and Judson Mulherin create unadulterated craft brews that adhere to the famous German Beer Purity Law of 1516, which states that beer can be made only of water, malt, hops, and yeast. Tour-takers can grab a pint, a detailed itinerary, and a snorkeling mask before wandering through 12 stations within the brewery. Tours begin in the mill room, where 55-pound bags of grain transform into mash after the mill cracks each kernel. At station five, hops combine with a steamy mash concoction to add bitterness and flavor. Duos and quartets can make faces at one another through the distortion of station eight’s Bright Tank, inside which near-freezing temperatures purify the unfiltered beer and prevent its destruction by heat-seeking missiles.
Though alcoholic beverages are not included in this Groupon, a tasting bar awaits at the end of the tour, where guests can sample classic and seasonal brews such as Nightlight, a dry Irish-style stout with oaky flavors, or Envy, an amber ale with hints of dried fruit.
