A stunning aerial view can enhance a romantic repast, or it can interrupt hors d’oeuvres if your Superdate spots injustice on the streets below. Fight crimes of hunger with today’s Groupon: for $30, you get $60 worth of gourmet French-American fare and signature drinks at Cité Elegant Dining.

Situated on the 70th floor of Lake Point Tower, Cité elevates its cuisine to match its lofty height, pleasing refined palates with prime-aged meats, freshly flown-in seafood, and local organic produce. The dining room’s panoramic view of Lake Shore Drive and Navy Pier's bald spot pair elegantly with Chef Frank Mnuk’s modern, French-tinged dishes, such as the dinner menu's La Bella Farm foie gras brûlée with pickled pearl onions and hon shimeji mushrooms ($20). Entrees tend toward steaks and seafood, including diver scallops with vanilla-kohlrabi puree and summer squash ($36). While drinking in the view, sip on a signature cocktail such as the refreshing le concombre, a bright blend of eco-chic organic Square One cucumber vodka, St. Germain elderflower liqueur, limoncello, and lime. Breathing fresh fire into the stoves at Cité, Executive Chef Frank Mnuk has logged time in the kitchens of renowned epicureans such as Thomas Keller, Laurent Gras, and the Swedish Chef.

Guests at Cité bask in a 360-degree view of Lake Michigan, Navy Pier, and Chicago—along with an eye-level view of summer fireworks—from the 70th floor of Lake Point Tower. But that shouldn't distract from what's on the tables there. Chef Oscar Ornelas creates dishes worthy of the adventurous space. Cured salmon pulls in an unexpected splash of yuzu vinaigrette, and tempura-battered apples and dried cherries add some hint of the forest to Berkshire pork. And the wine menu, which spans the New and Old World, provides another reason to linger over the skyline vista.
