What You'll Get
One of the world's most famous sopranos, Deborah Voigt lends her pristine pipes to the 350 gorgeous voices of the acclaimed San Francisco Girls Chorus for their much-heralded annual Yuletide concert at Davies Hall. The SFGC, dubbed a "treasure" by the San Francisco Symphony's Michael Tilson-Thomas, is made up of youngsters ages 5-18, who'll sing their hearts out on a variety of American holiday favorites and lead the crowd in a festive round of caroling. Possessing a voice famously described as "once in a generation," the multi-award-winning Voigt has starred at The Met, Covent Garden and La Scala and has been praised for her far-reaching range, beautiful tone and dramatic sensibility. Though uniquely suited to the works of Strauss and Wagner (her Brünnhilde from the latter's Ring Cycle is quickly becoming legendary), this all-American singer has mastered Broadway standards and was recently featured on the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's 2014 Christmas album.
