Dubbed a “first-class chorus” by The Washington Post, the City Choir of Washington (TCCW) kicks off its season with a trio of first-class works under the baton of esteemed choral director Robert Shafer, who won a Grammy in 2000 for a live concert recording of Benjamin Britten’s famed War Requiem. In fact, TCCW will perform Britten’s very next work, Cantata Misericordium, as well as Bach’s Cantata 118 and Haydn’s Theresa Mass as part of this performance at DC’s National Presbyterian Church.
