Hailing from the village of Zece Prajini in northeastern Romania, the 12-piece Balkan brass band known as Fanfare Ciocarlia are famed for their superpowered, high-speed gypsy jazz-funk, heard in European dance clubs and live on stages across the globe. In addition to their hit songs "Ah Ya Bibi," "Asphalt Tango," covers of "Caravan" and "Summertime," and 9 album releases, they were tapped by Sasha Baron Cohen to record a cover of "Born to Be Wild" for the Borat soundtrack, and were featured in the 2012 Nobel Peace Prize concert, televised worldwide. They're now on a 20th anniversary world tour, which includes this stop at Chicago's City Winery and a new disc, Onwards to Mars.
