$45 for Portland’s CityScape Adventure Race for Two (Up to $150 Value)

On Saturday, June 16, teams of two gather at On Deck Sports Bar & Grill at 11 a.m., where they’ll be presented with an envelope, which outlines 12 CityScape challenges. During the next five hours, clues, riddles, and bread crumbs direct teams to various locations as they document their experience with their own digital cameras. Each team must bring a selection of items, including a pen or pencil, $20 in singles for public transportation, and comfortable shoes. The first team to complete all of the challenges wins a prize. Participants have the opportunity to win over $500 in cash and prizes at the race.

CityScape Adventures welcomes teams of friends and family members, although each team must have at least one adult, and children younger than 12 are not allowed to compete.

CityScape Adventures

Inspired by The Amazing Race, CityScape Adventures—held across the United States—entangle race participants in webs of 12 puzzles and challenges in citywide races to the finish line. Participants compete in teams of two, using their wits, teamwork, and underground network of mutant-turtle spies to complete the tasks given at the start of the race. The 12 challenges take the form of puzzles, riddles, and clues that guide treasure hunters to a specific location within the city, where each team must complete a special task using only their cleverness and muscles. Players can also use the Internet, and the winning team is usually the one that best leverages its resources. The first team to successfully complete all tasks and vault over the finish line will receive a prize and assembly line of high-fives. Click here for a video of past races.

Customer Reviews

The scavenger hunt was a blast. However, since it was a virtual race, we got stuck without wifi on some parts of the Riverwalk. Sprint thru those crosswalks, have your phones fully charged, and just have fun. Enjoy the city and the historic spots!

Bring a camelback. Stop for water when needed. Pack light. Pack food like energy bar. Keep essentials close and don't lose anything important, like your ID or light rail pass. Stay focused and have fun!

Just have a good time and prepare to walk a lot - make sure the phone is charged to look up clues and take pics!
