What You'll Get
Running a race is a great way to practice running away from an angry grizzly bear or toward a charismatic mountain lion. Keep pace with nature with today's Groupon for entry to the CitySolve Urban Race on Saturday, April 14. Choose from the following options:
- For $30, you get registration for one (up to a $65 value).
- For $55, you get registration for two (up to a $130 value).
- For $99, you get registration for four (up to a $260 value).
On race day, teams of up to four walk, skip, or run through the little-known nooks of Philadelphia, gathering and solving clues that lead through neighborhoods such as Rittenhouse Square, Society Hill, and South Street, with one lucky team traipsing its way to a $300 prize. Clues range from anagrams and pop-culture trivia to deciphering graffiti written in pig Latin. Interspersed throughout the race are mettle-testing challenges, molding iron wills to such tasks as building a house from cards or identifying ice-cream flavors. Participants can pick up their pre-race packets on April 13 at the Philadelphia Running Company from 4 to 7 p.m., and race-day check-in is held from 9:45 to 11:30 a.m. at Field House. The top three teams with the fastest gams and sharpest puzzle-solving skills will also win free entry in the National Championship race on Saturday, November 3, which $6,500 in cash prizes and will be held in sunny Miami (top 25 teams qualify for the race).
